In a Sea of People by Roland Burton

In a Sea of People

People look at me but they do not see me at all.

I'm alone with my thoughts in spring, summer and fall.

In a sea of people I am alone. I am alone amidst a sea of strangers. They cannot know me.

Who should I talk to, and what should I say? Who is a friend, and who is an enemy?

While I am still alive I am not noticed.

When I am gone I will not be missed.

In the universe in all its vastness

I will be just one less.

Time is all we have. It is an endless sea.

Time is all I have. Infinity awaits me.

  1. Yes, our life is a sojourn from a finite world to an infinite universe as is evident from your appealing poem
